Civil War General Davidson a Tiffany Gold-Silver & Diamond presentation sword – one of the finest swords ever made by Tiffany the famous jewelers of New York. With over one hundred diamonds, Davidson had captured Little Rock, Arkansas. He went on to command the Yellowstone District in Montana in 1876 and had court martialed “General Custer” just 2 weeks before he was killed at the Little Big Horn!
This magnificent sword was custom designed and made by Louis Comfort Tiffany, and is equal to US Grants sword in metallurgical artwork, it was purchased directly from the family of Davidson in 1995, who had loaned it to the Smithsonian for Fifty years 1930 thru 1970. One of the most remarkable and Unique American swords in existence with a statute hilt and enameled oval of Diamonds on the scabbard; illustrated in the centerfold of the book “150 Years of Tiffany”.
