Commander in Chief of the American Army - General Winfield Scott
General Winfield Scott – solid gold and cased! Presentation sword given to him by Thomas Jefferson’s brother in law Virginia Governor John Randolph during the War of 1812 for defeating the British in the Great Lakes campaign. Altmeyer proclaimed this is finest American sword surpassing that of US Grants. Made of solid gold, and in 3 colors of gold, it has a bust portrait depicting “Alexander the Great wearing a Corinthian Helmet”
