War 1812 - Gold & Enamel King George IV of England to the Duke of Cambridge on his Wedding day
King George IV War of 1812 – solid gold sword presented by the King of England to his Brother. It is made by the finest goldsmith in England and was used during the wedding ceremony of the King’s sister! At Windsor Castle on July 22, 1816 – his brother is depicted holding this very sword in a painting in the British Royal Collection. So while the British were burning the American capitol in Washington, DC and attacking the American Fleet, the King Regent had this magnificent sword made for their family! Needless to say a King’s sword never comes onto the American market.
